The SGV team is the latest expansion team to join the Professional Basketball Association (PBA), a semi-professional summer league headquartered in Texas.

Based out of the San Gabriel Valley, the SGV team is scheduled to play a 16-game season starting in May of 2022. The yet to be named team is currently investigating possible home courts. The team is currenlty holding a vote for giving itself an official name. Fans are encouraged to vote and on their favorite name and enter for a chance to win season tickets for the 2022 season by clicking here. The poll will end on October 15, 2021, with an unveiling scheduled for November.

The search for a head coach has already begun and tryouts are expected to be held with the new head coach prior to the start of the 2022 PBA season in May. Locations for our home court are being scouted in the cities of Claremont, La Verne, Monterey Park, and Pomona.

The SGV basketball team is owned by Emerald Sports and Entertainment, Inc., a California corporation. Principal owners of the team includes California Metropolitan University, a new university based in Montclair, California.

All home games can be heard live on CMU’s online radio station, which is run by students at the university. The station, currently in beta testing. plays a mix of Top 40, Alternative, Underground Hip Hop, and EDM. You may test the station by clicking here.
